By default, WordPress attempts to compress your images for better performance. If you are a photographer who want to showcase high quality images on your website then you can turn off the image compression. In this video we will show you how to increase or decrease WordPress image compression.

When the value for the image compression is 100 it means WordPress will compress the image at the highest quality. If you are not a photographer or artist then you may not see much of a difference in quality.
If you are not a photographer then there are many performance benefits for leaving the compression quality as is.
Should you want to could change the quality to something lower by changing the 100 to 75 or something lower.
